Improving your Golf Game

I played golf today which is one of the most enjoyable things I do.

This is probably a subject that has not been written about a lot ----How Scientology can help your golf game.

Well, here are a few things that you need to play golf:
1. The ability to understand information
2. The ability to differentiate false from true data
3. The ability to focus
4. The ability to remain unrattled when under pressure
5. Enjoyment of a good time outside with friends

Each of these abilities is assisted and enhanced with Scientology.

1. and 2. The study courses of Scientology help you (and definitely helped me) to enjoy learning and increase your ability to absorb and assimilate information. There is so much information about the golf swing and golf techniques that one can become confused and even "freeze up" . Those of us who play golf have seen this and you may have even experienced it. The information and drills of study discovered by L. Ron Hubbard can help you differentiate what works and what doesn't and to understand the different methods, techniques and teachings of the good golf teachers and books and even who's good and knows what they're talking about.

3. and 4. The ability to focus and remain unrattled under pressure is enhanced by the communication drills and practice of Scientology.

5. Enjoying your life and having a good time with friends also increases through Scientology. If your cares are less, if you worry less, it's just easier to just have a good time.

By the way, it doesn't hurt to have good equipment and to get a new driver that you like. I got the new Cleveland High Bore Driver and it's straighter and longer than any I've had before.

Enlighten the people generally and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish.

The title of this post is from Thomas Jefferson. The brilliant Mr. Jefferson was a great observer of life and as a great observer of life could then take his knowledge and be an architect of the most successful nation in history.

As a student of Scientology I, like other Scientologists, have learned to observe and understand life more and more with integrity. Like most people, I am in agreement with Mr. Jefferson's quote that people should be enlightened and if then enlightened. (able to understand and observe better and better) then the world gets better, one person at a time.

What is meant by observation?

Well, to observe is see, to look at directly without prejudice or preconceived notions. When you can do that it ties directly into one's own personal integrity. With individuals gaining personal integrity through their own conclusions base on observation - each person becomes better.

Here's what philosopher L. Ron Hubbard says in part about Personal Integrity:

"WHAT IS TRUE FOR YOU is what you have observed yourself and when you lose that you have lost everything.

What is personal integrity?Personal integrity is knowing what you know–What you know is what you know–And to have the courage to know and say what you have observed.

And that is integrity.

And there is no other integrity. "

To read the rest of this essay you can go to the full essay entitled, "Personal Integrity"

As an aside, if you're wondering What Scientology is, try observing directly by reading the Scientology sites or reading Mr. Hubbard's books. If you do, you may be on your way to the personal enlightenment that Thomas Jefferson refers to.

Scientology Fundamentals of Thought

A great book to learn directly about Scientology(as opposed to 2nd hand opinions) is Scientology Fundamentals of Thought . Here's what is said at Amazon.com about the book:

Editorial Reviews

Book Description:

"Scientology is a route, a way, rather than a dissertation or an assertive body of knowledge.

"Through its drills and studies one may find the truth for oneself. It is the only thing that can show you who you really are.

"The technology is therefore not expounded as something to believe but something to do."
—L. Ron Hubbard

Even with the vast amounts of technology and science available to man, many have felt powerless to stop the decay and decline seen all around us. A family torn by drug abuse. A broken marriage. The decline of our cities and neighborhoods. The rise of illiteracy. The destruction of the environment. The threat of war.

What is missing?

Simply put, man has not had a real understanding of LIFE itself, how it works and how to make it better.

In the book Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought, you get to know the basic principles of Scientology which are in essence the basic principles of LIFE itself.

Equipped with this book alone, one can bring about positive changes in the states of health, ability and intelligence. No such knowledge previously existed, and no such results were ever attainable as those which can be reached by a study of this volume. This book should be read by someone with an inquiring nature, or by any who aspire to a better life. Study this volume carefully and apply it and a better life can result. This book contains more than theories—it includes exact techniques anyone can immediately apply.

In this book you will discover:

The actual laws of understanding and how to use them to improve communication with others.

The three conditions of existence that comprise life and how these affect a person’s ability to
enjoy it. The anatomy of problems and how to resolve them. The eight basic urges in life and how by not having them in alignment can bring about your downfall. How to treat life as a game—and win. The three classes of universes and how these influence you. If you disagree with how things are, if you want a better life, then this book will take you on a journey where there is no limit to what you can accomplish, no end to what you can achieve.

Book Features:
Paperback format 198 pages Full glossary included Detailed subject index Results from others who have read the book:

"Sometimes in life achieving a goal large or small can seem very complex and possibly there are
barriers to accomplishment. After having studied the entire book Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought I found I was able to play the game of life, knowing with certainty that things would turn out right—and that's exactly what happened!... I was able to improve my relationship with my husband, my parents and my son through understanding them better. My work became not just easier, but more enjoyable. I was able to enjoy being with people so much more and better deal with even difficult circumstances. Best of all, I am in a much better position to help others." —T.L.

"I happened upon the book Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought one day in a bookstore, stayed up all night reading it and my life has not been the same since. I immediately saw how I had a problem relating to others in many cases, and with the materials L. Ron Hubbard presented in the book I was able to improve the way I deal with other people which has made them and me a lot happier." —M.T.

Played in the Dianetics Golf Tournament Today

Had a great day today. Played in a Dianetics golf tournament today which was a blast. There was great comeraderie and we raised enough money to to send about 2000 copies of Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health to the troops in Iraq.

Scientology and Dianetics, when understood and used can make a differenc in a person's life and then when more and more people understand themselves better, act more intelligently the world can be changed one person at a time.

As Tom Cruise mentioned in his interview on ABC a week or so ago, a good starting place is The Fundamental of Thought by L. Ron Hubbard along with the first book on Dianetics.

Changing Your Future by Understanding Your History

I was thinking about the subject of and the tools of Scientology after watching Tom Cruise's interview on ABC Friday night. Scientology is such a large and embracing subject and because it is so extensive it is hard to explain to someone in a 30 second "sound bite."

Upon reflection, though, a phrase did come to mind that might help someone understand the subject: "Changing your future by understanding your history."

It reminded me of the quote; "Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it." from philosopher George Santayana." My father told me that quote when I was a young guy when I asked him why we study history. Dad amplified upon the quote by explaining to me that we studied history to to learn from the mistakes, failures and the successes of the past so we can have a better future.

That concept is analogous, in my opinion, to what one does in Scientology and it describes what it has done for me.. I have had experiences, as you have, some bad, some good, some downright exhilerating and some sad or even disastorous. What has happened through the processes of Scientology for me is an understanding of what has happened. These processes and information on the courses has allowed me to "not ignore my personal history" and "not be doomed to repeat my mistakes."

Also, I have re-experienced the pleasurable and successful times in my life which rehabilitates the view that I'm a strong and able person.

These processes and training are the "tools" that I believe Tom Cruise was referring to when he said Scientology has tools to improve one's life.

In an elementary, yet powerful example in the book Self Analysis by L. Ron Hubbard, the author demonstrates and helps the reader by recalling selected pleasurable instances from one's past.

I heartily recommend Self Analysis to you as a way tobegin your understanding of your history so as to change your future for the better.

Surround yourself with people who make you feel great and avoid those who belittle your ambitions

I read a great entry today on the blog www.justthinkforyourself.blogspot.com . It's about people of good will .

My experience with Scientology is that those people who get involved and stay involved are people who have a strong and real intent to see their life and the lives of those they care about, and on a larger scale, the race of human beings become better and have more fulfilling lives. It's really that simple.

A great tip is the quote from Mark Twain that I brought up in an earlier blog entry from Mark Twain:
"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."

Surround yourself with those people who make you feel great and avoid those who belittle you or your ambitions.

Mark Twain - Brilliance

Having studied Scientology for years I'm always surprised at the vehemence and downright nastiness of some people who don't like it.

Having been a fan of Mark Twain and his wit for years I thought I'd let a couple of Mr. Samuel Clemens' quotes speak to that subject.

Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.
Mark Twain (the pen name for Samuel Clemens)

Those who study Scientology are trying to make their lives better and the lives of those around them better - simple. This gets some people nuts - what a sad statement about those who would criticize individuals working on living better and more honest lives.

The Way to Happiness

One of my favorite books is The Way to Happiness. It's amazing the effect that this short book of wisdom can cause.

It was written by L. Ron Hubbard but is not religious or part of Scientology. Even though it's not part of Scientology, most Scientologists have read it and use the ideas for better living and how they act towards others. In fact, if you want to get an idea of what a Scientologist is like, I can think of no better way of learning other than meeting Scientologists than reading the book. You can get a free e-copy of the book at The Way to Happiness site.

It has been distributed in a total of 9ver 65 million people by individuals, companies and by schools and government leaders.

Here's what one reader wrote as posted on twth.org:

Dear Sirs,
There is not a problem facing the world today that this little book of common sense cannot solve. It can be used to run a household or a business. Governments can be lead by it! The tone of a nation could be set by it.

And if I were to run a school, a college, or any form of instruction or teaching of others, it would be a mandatory course!

It is without question, the most powerful non-religious book in the world and I would challenge anyone to bring a problem of life to me that I cannot solve with this book!

Off to Disneyland

Coming up next weekend, my wife and I are taking our daughter to Disneyland along with 10 other of her friends for her birthday. It'll be a little hectic with all the kids to watch but a blast.

We're thrilled to have brought her up using Scientology. There's a great article about what L. Ron Hubbard has to say about children. The overall watchword and overriding concept for me in bringing up our daughter has been kindness.

You think sometimes you have to be tough etc. "tough love" and all that. Kindness has worked for me. Check that article and other nice ones by clicking about how Scientology helps with parenting and bringing up children.

Scientology and Silent Birth

With all the press about Scientology, Dianetics and silent birth - what's all the fuss? Would it be better to have a bunch of confusion, noise yak yak around the birth?

It's great that the information about a gentle and calm environment around birth is getting out - what it shows is the kindness, caring and love for the next generation that Mr. Hubbard wrote about in Dianetics.

What the Scientology site says about silent birth is: " Having a quiet, gentle birth is all about providing the best possible environment for the birthing mother and her new baby.
It is labor and delivery done in a calm and loving environment and with no-spoken words by everyone attending as much as possible. Chatty doctors and nurses, shouts to “PUSH, PUSH” and loud or laughing remarks to “encourage” are the types of things that are meant to be avoided."

That seems reasonable doesn't it.

Also, there are great and helpful things one can do to help a child or infant that you can read about and use on the volunteerministers.org site. Also, a new site silentbirth.org

When there's a lot of noise about something. Learn the facts and then - do the right thing and think for yourself.
